Distributed Leadership as a Catalyst for Change
Transportation control and epidemic containment
Background: The rapid development of modern transportation networks, coupled with increasing urbanization and population mobility, presents a dual challenge for global public health systems: while enhancing connectivity and economic integration, these networks also accelerate the spatial dissemination of infectious diseases. The COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China, in late 2019, starkly illustrated this paradox. As a major national t…

From narratives to movement
Online User-Generated Content (UGC) offers valuable insights into the urban vitality of specific districts, with travelogues revealing tourists’ overall preferences and informing analyses of urban functionality. However, translating large-scale textual data into geographically anchored, preference-based information remains challenging due to the abstract and often weak spatial link in narrative descriptions. This study proposes a UGC-driven Agent…
An information-theoretic account of cognitive effort
Cognitive effort is a significant phenomenon, yet current psychological research remains entangled in several unresolved challenges. These include debates over the existence of the ego depletion effect, difficulties in accounting for diverse moderators that appear to mitigate this effect, and the dual-aspect of effort. This paper addresses these challenges by drawing on the active inference approach to cognitive effort, within a broad information…

Dynamic or static? The influence of ingredient image presentation on perceived product efficacy
Financing Efficiency and Influencing Factors of High-Tech Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Information Technology Industry in the China Yangtze River Delta
High-tech small and medium-sized enterprises (high-tech SMEs) play a driving role in the economic transformation of the China Yangtze River Delta. However, comparatively little research and attention has been paid to evaluating the financing efficiency and investigating both external and internal influencing factors on financing efficiency based on the information of these enterprises. This study evaluates the financing efficiencies in a homogene…

SGLT-2i and Risk of Malignancy in Type 2 Diabetes
Background: Currently, the association between sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT-2i) and malignancy risk has yet to be fully elucidated. This meta-analysis aimed to determine the relationship between SGLT-2i and malignancy risk in type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients. Methods: We searched PubMed, ScienceDirect, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Web of Science to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) publish…
