  • The Division of Labour and Female Partners’ Relative Pay across Phases of Parenthood: Evidence from UK Dual-Earner Couples

Open Access•Wei Zhuang, Mark Elliot et al.•ARTICLE•Socius Sociological Research for…•2026

The transition to first parenthood is a critical juncture at which both paid and unpaid work become more gendered within couples. From a life course perspective, parenthood is not a discrete event but a process that couples traverse together across successive phases. Far less is known, however, about how the gendered division of labour and its implications for the within-couple pay gap evolve across subsequent phases of parenthood. Using longitud…

  • A study on the application of the remote multidisciplinary team teaching model in clinical postgraduate education of urology

Open Access•Wei Zhuang, Haichao Lin et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Medical Education•2026

BACKGROUND: Postgraduate medical education increasingly requires learners to develop clinical reasoning, manage uncertainty, integrate heterogeneous clinical information and collaborate across disciplines. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) teaching may provide a clinically situated learning environment in which trainees can observe and participate in complex decision-making. However, evidence on the use of remote MDT teaching in urology postgraduate e…

  • Quantifying interactive effects of people and built-environment on urban park cooling benefits, a case study of Shanghai

Open Access•Bohua Jin, Wangchongyu Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2026

  • Prevalence and determinants of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis from school screening in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, China

Open Access•Qiang Tu, Qingyu Tu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objective This large-scale epidemiological study aimed to determine the prevalence and associated risk factors of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) through school-based screening in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, China. Methods A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted from 2023 to 2024, involving a total of 172,127 students aged between 7 and 18 years. A two-phase screening protocol was implemented: Phase I included physical examinatio…

  • Multidecadal shifts of the northern and southern edges of the western Pacific warm pool

Open Access•Handa Wang, Wei Zhuang et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2025

The western Pacific warm pool (WPWP) plays a pivotal role in shaping global climate. Using observational datasets, we uncover significant multidecadal shifts in the northern and southern edges of the WPWP. Heat budget analysis based on century-long ocean model hindcast simulations reveals that the meridional displacements of the WPWP northern edge are mainly caused by surface heat flux variations, while the southern edge’s shifts can be primarily…

  • Antitumor mechanism of kangliu pill on gliomas in mice through PI3K-Akt signaling pathway

Open Access•Fei Chen, Jingjing Cui et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Traditional Chinese medicine decoctions and Chinese patent medicines for the treatment of depression: Efficacies and mechanisms

    Open Access•Wei Zhuang, Shao-Li Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Short‐term efficacy of two breast pumps and impact on breastfeeding outcomes at 6 months in exclusively breastfeeding mothers: A randomised trial

Open Access•Mary Fewtrell, Kathy Kennedy et al.•ARTICLE•Maternal and Child Nutrition•2019

The provision of breast pumps is a potential strategy to increase breastfeeding duration. This trial compared the effectiveness and acceptability of two breast pumps in mothers exclusively breastfeeding (EBF) their healthy term infant. It also tested whether provision of pumps versus vouchers of equivalent value influenced breastfeeding or attainment of mothers' goals at 3 and 6 months. Mothers were randomised at 3- to 4-week post-partum (Beijing…

  • Spatial and Temporal Distribution of Particulate Phosphorus and Their Correlation with Environmental Factors in a Shallow Eutrophic Chinese Lake (Lake Taihu)

Open Access•Ming Kong, Jianying Chao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Spatial and seasonal variations of particulate phosphorus (PP) in a large shallow, eutrophic Lake Taihu with different ecotypes (including a phytoplankton-dominated zone, lake center zone, estuary zone and macrophyte-dominated zone) were investigated. The results showed that particulate organic phosphorus (POP) was the dominant form of PP (>88.0%). The concentration of POP showed higher levels in the bloom-sensitive northwestern zone (phytoplankt…

  • DNA Methylation Status of PAX1 and ZNF582 in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Open Access•Jin Huang, Guo Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

Hypermethylation of specific gene promoters is an important mechanism of carcinogenesis. A high frequency of promoter methylation of PAX1 and ZNF582 genes has been detected in cervical cancer. In the present study, we investigated the methylation status of PAX1 and ZNF582 genes in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissues. Tumor and paracancerous tissues were obtained from 14 ESCC patients. Genomic DNA was extracted from both tumor and pa…
