The Adaptation of Silang Tanmu
This article examines two state-sanctioned adaptations of the Peking opera Silang Tanmu (四郎探母, Fourth Son visits His Mother) in Taiwan to illuminate the interaction of political ideology, grassroots pressure, and cultural governance under Kuomintang (KMT, Nationalist) rule. Network pharmacology integrated with multi-omics demonstrates that Wumei Wan modulates the progression of colorectal cancer by regulating the focal adhesion-YAP signaling axis
These findings suggest that WMW intervention is associated with coordinated alterations in inflammation-related signaling, cell proliferation, and extracellular matrix remodeling in CRC, with focal adhesion-YAP-related mechanotransduction representing a potential associated feature. This study provides integrated experimental evidence supporting further investigation of WMW and traditional Chinese medicine-based strategies targeting focal adhesio…

This study aimed to investigate the association between sleep quality and nap duration, and cognitive frailty among older adults living in nursing homes. Methods This study included 1,206 older adults aged ≥ 60 years f…
Combined Associations of Serum Ferritin and Body Size Phenotypes With Cardiovascular Risk Profiles
Background: Serum ferritin (SF) has been correlated with one or more metabolic syndrome features associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study explored the associations between SF and CVD risk factors among different body size phenotypes that were based on metabolic status and body mass index (BMI) categories. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed using a cohort of 7,549 Chinese adults from the China Heal…
