  • Identification and characterization of anti-diabetic principle in Senna alata (Linn.) flower using alloxan-induced diabetic male Wistar rats

Open Access•Judith Nkechiyere Uwazie, Musa Toyin Yakubu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2020

  • Evaluation of Fresh Water Actinomycete Bioflocculant and Its Biotechnological Applications in Wastewaters Treatment and Removal of Heavy Metals

Open Access•Mayowa Oladele Agunbiade, Carolina H Pohl et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

This study evaluated the potential of a biopolymeric flocculant produced by Terrabacter sp. isolated from Sterkfontein Dam, South Africa. Microbial flocculants aid the aggregation of suspended solutes in solutions, thus, suggesting its alternative application to inorganic and synthetic organic flocculants, which are associated with health-related problems. The 16S rDNA analysis revealed the bacteria to have 98% similarity to Terrabacter sp. MUSC7…

  • Kinetics of Modulatory Role of Cyperus Esculentus L. On the Specific Activity of Key Carbohydrate Metabolizing Enzymes

Open Access•Saheed Sabiu, Emmanuel Oladipo Ajani et al.•ARTICLE•African Journal of Traditional…•2017

Background: The continuous search for new lead compounds as viable inhibitors of specific enzymes linked to carbohydrate metabolism has intensified. Cyperus esculentus L. is one of the therapeutically implicated botanicals against several degenerative diseases including diabetes mellitus. Materials and Methods: This study evaluated the antioxidant and mechanism(s) of inhibitory potential of aqueous extract of C. esculentus on α-amylase and α-gluc…

  • Morella serrata (Lam.) Killick stabilizes biomembrane and rejuvenates sexual competence in male Wistar rats

Open Access•Saheed Sabiu, Anofi Omotayo Tom Ashafa•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2017

  • Kinetics of α -amylase and α -glucosidase inhibitory potential of Zea mays Linnaeus (Poaceae), Stigma maydis aqueous extract: An in vitro assessment

    Open Access•Saheed Sabiu, F H O’Neill et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2016
