  • Deciphering the polypharmacology of a traditional Chinese formula for MASLD

Open Access•Zhongyu Zhang, Min Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

  • Nitrogen Management Trade‐Offs Between Crop Production and Environmental Impact After Long‐Term Conservation Tillage in Northeast China

Open Access•Yang Zhang, Yan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Conservation tillage is crucial for rehabilitating degraded cropland, securing crop production and lessening greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Yet, the optimal nitrogen (N) application level that balances crop productivity with environmental effects following long‐term conservation tillage remains unclear. Based on a 9‐year conservation tillage experiment of black soil in Northeast China, an in situ microplot experiment was conducted from 2021 to 2…

  • Effect of Soil Compaction Under Short‐Duration Loading on Aggregate Stability and Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity in a Chinese Mollisol

Open Access•Xuewen Chen, Shuang Niu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2025

Soil compaction has been found to deform soil structures and alter water flows. Although previous studies have suggested that a load exceeding the critical stress, determined by static load application, can be applied for a short duration without causing substantial damage to the soil structure, the immediate consequences of short loading times on structural integrity and the subsequent influence on soil water flow remain relatively underexplored…

  • Seasonal and Spatial Variation in Dissolved Heavy Metals in Liaodong Bay, China

Open Access•Weijun Guo, Jibing Zou et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Spatial-seasonal variations in dissolved heavy metals in surface seawater were analyzed based on surveys at 87 sampling sites and water samples from six rivers across Liaodong Bay. The concentrations of copper (Cu), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and zinc (Zn) had ranges of 0.20-40.00 (5.45 ± 5.67), 0.51-33.64 (4.68 ± 3.93), 0.03-13.47 (2.22 ± 2.01), and 0.50-80.09 μg/L (14.22 ± 16.32), respectively, throughout the four seasons of 2020. The trace metal…

  • Temporal Variation of Earthworm Impacts on Soil Organic Carbon under Different Tillage Systems

Open Access•Yafei Guo, Xiaoping Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Previous research has shown the varied effect of earthworms on soil carbon dynamics. We carried out a 180-day incubation experiment with earthworms and maize residue additions under conventional tillage (CT) and no tillage (NT) system conditions to quantify the earthworm effect in the black soil of northeastern China. Earthworms did not affect soil CO 2 emissions, while residue addition significantly increased such emissions. The effects of earth…
