The Asean–Korea Trade In Services (Aktis) Agreement
To strengthen trade in services between ASEAN and Korea, in 2009 both sides signed and implemented the ASEAN-Korea Trade in Services (AKTIS) agreement. This article is the first to assess the trade implications of this agreement for Indonesia and other ASEAN countries. The challenges of economic integration
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has agreed to establish an ASEAN single-shipping market (ASSM) by 2015. The fact that most countries are members of WTO reflects the worldwide belief in the benefits of a global free trade. Despite its achievements since the first round of multilateral trade negotiations was held, the effectiveness of the pr…
The Economies of Southeast Asia
Do the Asean countries have a common business cycle
This paper explores the nature and characteristics of business cycles for a group of five small open economies that comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Business cycles are generated as transitory fluctuations around a stochastic trend. The results show that there is qualified evidence of common business cycles among the ASEAN countries. Sources of common variation in cycles are explored by correlating ASEAN country cycles…
