Revisiting Derrida’s Critique of Lacan, Beyond the Misunderstandings
This paper revisits one of the least understood elements of Derrida’s corpus: his sustained critique of Lacan’s conception of the letter operative in the unconscious. Power and the “Drive for Mastery”: Derrida’s Freud and the Debate with Foucault
Trumbull reconstructs Derrida’s latter critique of Foucault, concentrating on Foucault’s relationship to Freud. He uses Freud, particularly on the death drive, to challenge and improve Foucault’s understanding of power. This, he argues, gives rise to a new understanding of and direction for deconstructive genealogy.

Power and the “Drive for Mastery”: Derrida’s Freud and the Debate with Foucault
Trumbull reconstructs Derrida’s latter critique of Foucault, concentrating on Foucault’s relationship to Freud.
