  • Between Acts: Instrumental Music in Ljubljana’s Estates Theatre (1802–1837)

    Music served a variety of purposes at the Estates Theatre in Ljubljana. As well as being the main component of opera and theatre productions, it also served as entertainment for the audience during intermissions and enriched evening events.   • Instrumentalna komorna dela Rista Savina v okviru komorne ustvarjalnosti in poustvarjalnosti na Slovenskem od začetka 19. stoletja do leta 1920

    Risto Savin wrote ten instrumental chamber works: a string quartet, two piano trios, a cello sonata, and six violin pieces, of which two are arrangements of his own orchestral works. The paper places Savin’s instrumental chamber opus in the context of the chamber music of the time in Slovene lands and demonstrates that the composer paved the way for Slovene chamber repertoire from its very beginnings
