Application of retrospective teaching method in stomatology undergraduate education
BACKGROUND: Undergraduate orthodontic education requires students to integrate multiple diagnostic sources and develop individualized treatment plans, yet lecture-based learning may limit opportunities for integrating theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a case review-based clinical learning improving academic performance and learning-related outcomes. METHODS: Forty-two undergraduate orthodontic…
Rising mortality trends due to falls among the elderly in Southwest China from 2014 to 2022
The mortality from falls among elderly residents in this study has shown a concerning upward trend from 2014 to 2022. The increased risk is particularly pronounced with advancing age and over recent years for both genders. These findings highlight the urgent need for enhanced fall prevention measures targeted at the elderly population to mitigate this growing public health issue
A DRL-Based Service Offloading Approach Using DAG for Edge Computational Orchestration
Edge infrastructure and Industry 4.0 required services are offered by edge-servers (ESs) with different computation capabilities to run social application's workload based on a leased-price method. The usage of Social Internet of Things (SIoT) applications increases day-to-day, which makes social platforms very popular and simultaneously requires an effective computation system to achieve high service reliability. In this regard, offloading high …
Cost of resilience to climate change
A growing scholarship is focusing on the cost of social resilience to climate change in the past. Among different resilience strategies, migration could be effective for nomadic societies despite the potential consequences of conflicts and epidemics. Thus, this study utilizes historical records to statistically investigate the linkages among nomadic migrations, nomad–farmer conflicts, and epidemics under climate change and population pressure in …
