  • Individual Heterogeneity of Smokers’ Cigarette Cravings When Facing Environmental Stress

Yonghui Feng, Ming Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•Substance Use & Misuse•2026

BACKGROUND: Cigarette cravings have emerged as a critical factor contributing to the difficulties encountered in smoking cessation. Previous studies have demonstrated a link between environmental stress and smoking cravings in smokers. Nevertheless, a substantial body of research posits that the relationship between stress and increased smoking cravings may not be universally applicable to all smokers. Based on the perspective of evolutionary psy…

  • Geographical Entity Management Model Based on Multi-Classification

Open Access•Lin Shi, Xiaoji Lan et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

Scientific and logical classification is crucial for efficient information storage, management, and sharing. However, there are numerous existing classification systems for geographical entities, and the categories to which the same geographical entity belongs are often different in the business databases constructed according to different classification systems, which brings great obstacles to the management and sharing of geographical informati…

  • Arctic coastal hazard assessment considering permafrost thaw subsidence, coastal erosion, and flooding

Open Access•Ziyi Wang, Ming Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2023

The thawing of permafrost in the Arctic has led to an increase in coastal land loss, flooding, and ground subsidence, seriously threatening civil infrastructure and coastal communities. However, a lack of tools for synthetic hazard assessment of the Arctic coast has hindered effective response measures. We developed a holistic framework, the Arctic Coastal Hazard Index (ACHI), to assess the vulnerability of Arctic coasts to permafrost thawing, co…

  • Economic policy uncertainty and dividend sustainability

Open Access•Bushra Sarwar, Xiao Ming et al.•ARTICLE•Economic Research-Ekonomska…•2020

We examine the influence of Economic Policy Uncertainty (E.P.U.) on dividend sustainability – dividend termination and dividend initiation decision. Using a sample of 1,375 firms over the time span 2000–2015, our main result reveals that during high E.P.U. past dividend payers are more likely to terminate and past non-payers are less likely to initiate dividends. However, firms that rely more on internal finance (I.F.), generate high return on in…

  • A decade of remotely sensed observations highlight complex processes linked to coastal permafrost bluff erosion in the Arctic

Open Access•Benjamin M Jones, Benjamin Jones et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2018

Author: Jones, Benjamin M et al.; Genre: Journal Article; Finally published : 2018; Open Access; Title: A decade of remotely sensed observations highlight complex processes linked to coastal permafrost bluff erosion in the Arctic

  • The International HapMap Project

    Open Access•Richard A Gibbs, John W Belmont et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•2003

The goal of the International HapMap Project is to determine the common patterns of DNA sequence variation in the human genome and to make this information freely available in the public domain. An international consortium is developing a map of these patterns across the genome by determining the genotypes of one million or more sequence variants, their frequencies and the degree of association between them, in DNA samples from populations with a…
