Integrating local and regional environmental influences in the Velyka Andrusivka loess–palaeosol sequence, Middle Dnieper (Ukraine)

In 2019, new excavations were carried out at Doroshivtsi III site, dated to the Last Glacial Maximum. Ten identifiable archaeological levels belong to the Gravettian technocomplex. In the article, detailed data about the faunal remains is presented. The remains of reindeer, horses, mammoths, a wolf, a vulpine, and also a crow have been identified. Luminescence dating of ancient kilns and gothic to baroque bricks from SE Poland – a comparison with archaeomagnetic data
The TL and OSL ages obtained from two ancient kilns and gothic to baroque bricks in the SE of Poland, were compared to their presumed historical ages and discussed. The luminescence ages of ancient kilns were also matched with the results of archaeomagnetic dating. The OSL and archaeomagnetic data indicates that the ancient kilns were last used not later than ca. 280 AD. This age corresponds well to the lower limit of the postulated age of fragme…

New fieldwork in Argi and Letti (Southern Dongola Reach) has produced unique data on early Holocene settlement and burial practices.
