    Amplification of the key term `culture" is advocated for the field of cross-cultural psychology. A model drawn from the study of semiotics suggests the way in which this can be done in cross-cultural psychology. The pursuit of what is meant by culture helps us to merge with the parent discipline, and goes beyond the aspect of comparison into the notion of a cultural psychology.
