Mental health of voluntary canine search and rescue workers in Germany – Mission-related stressors and need for future interventions. A pilot investigation
The concept of buying-shopping disorder
Effects of cumulative trauma load on long-term trajectories of life satisfaction and health in a population-based study
The current study expands on evidence to the long-term development of health and life satisfaction in response to traumatic events from a latent variable modelling perspective. Besides detrimental effect, it also points to functional adaptation after initial decline and increased well-being associated with trauma exposure. Thus, response to traumatic stress is marked by great heterogeneity. Future research should focus on variables beyond exposur…
Relations between traumatic stress, dimensions of impulsivity, and reactive and appetitive aggression in individuals with refugee status
Fear-driven response to perceived threat based on inadequate cognitive appraisal is assumed to cause pathological reactive aggression, whereas excessive appetitive aggression can be explained by repeated experiences of thrill and excitement during violent acts. Prevention of early traumatic stress and adversities seems key to breaking the cycle of violence. (PsycINFO Database Record
