  • Alterations in subgenual anterior cingulate cortex functional connectivity underlie depressive symptoms in chronic insomnia disorder

Open Access•Yuan He, Shian Zhong et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2026

Our findings identify specific alterations in sgACC functional network in CID patients with comorbid depression. The mediating role of sgACC-ITG.L connectivity highlights a potential neural pathway through which insomnia contributes to depressive symptoms, identifying a putative target for neuromodulation therapies

  • Association between inflammatory markers (SII and Siri) and anxiety levels in Parkinson’s disease

    Open Access•Wen Zhou, Tian-fang Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Our study demonstrates a significant positive linear association between SII and SIRI and anxiety levels, particularly state anxiety, in PD patients. These findings suggest that systemic inflammation may play a role in the development of anxiety in PD and highlight the potential utility of SII and SIRI as biomarkers for anxiety in this population. Future longitudinal studies are warranted to explore the causal relationship and potential therapeut…

  • Orbitofrontal Cortex Functional Connectivity-Based Classification for Chronic Insomnia Disorder Patients With Depression Symptoms

Open Access•Liang Gong, Ronghua Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

Depression is a common comorbid symptom in patients with chronic insomnia disorder (CID). Previous neuroimaging studies found that the orbital frontal cortex (OFC) might be the core brain region linking insomnia and depression. Here, we used a machine learning approach to differentiate CID patients with depressive symptoms from CID patients without depressive symptoms based on OFC functional connectivity. Seventy patients with CID were recruited …

  • High-resolution late Pliocene-quaternary magnetostratigraphy of the Yinchuan Basin, NE Tibetan Plateau

Open Access•Xuedong Ma, Gongming Yin et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • Adsorption of As(V) from Aqueous Solution on Chitosan-Modified Diatomite

Open Access•Qintao Yang, Liang Gong et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

A novel chitosan (CS)-modified diatomite (Dt) was prepared by a simple mixture in the mass ratio to remove As(V) from aqueous solution in this research. The CS-modified Dt adsorbent was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis. The parameters to influence the adsorption of As(V) ion were studied under such conditions as kinetics, adsorption iso…

  • The Orbitofrontal Cortex Gray Matter Is Associated With the Interaction Between Insomnia and Depression

Open Access•Siyi Yu, Zhifu Shen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2018

Insomnia and depression are highly comorbid symptoms in both primary insomnia (PI) and major depressive disorder (MDD). In the current study, we aimed at exploring both the homogeneous and heterogeneous brain structure alteration in PI and MDD patients. Sixty-five MDD patients and 67 matched PI patients were recruited and underwent a structural MRI scan. The subjects were sub-divided into four groups, namely MDD patients with higher or lower inso…
