  • Construct Validity and Internal Consistency of the Italian Version of the PedsQLTM 4.0 Generic Core Scale and PedsQLTM 3.0 Cerebral Palsy Module

    Open Access•Ilaria Pedrinelli, S F Biagi et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

The present study confirms the internal consistency and construct validity of the Italian version of both PedsQL TM modules. In CwCP, greater functional disability resulted in lower HRQoL scores, and there was significant discrepancy between the parent and child ratings

  • Cognitive, Behavioral, and Learning Profiles of Children with Above-Average Cognitive Functioning

Open Access•Daniela Chieffo, Valentina Arcangeli et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

These findings confirm the heterogeneity of gifted profiles and underscore the need for personalized educational and psychological interventions to support both strengths and vulnerabilities in gifted children. Caution is warranted when interpreting these associations, given their modest effect sizes and the exploratory nature of the study

  • Sleep Disorders in Infants and Toddlers with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy Treated with Therapeutic Hypothermia

Open Access•Domenico M Romeo, Chiara Arpaia et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

Low-risk infants and toddlers with HIE showed a low incidence of sleep disorders, similar to those observed in control group, with some exceptions. As these incidences may increase significantly with age, further clinical assessments will be needed to confirm these data at older ages

  • Upper Limb Changes in DMD Patients Amenable to Skipping Exons 44, 45, 51 and 53

Open Access•Claudia Brogna, Marika Pane et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2023

Our results expand the information on upper limb function changes detected by the PUL 2.0 in a relatively large group of DMD patients with distinct exon-skipping classes. This information can be of help when designing clinical trials or in the interpretation of the real world data including non-ambulant patients

  • Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) and Behavior Impairment

Open Access•Daniela Pia Rosaria Chieffo, Daniela Chieffo et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2023

SLD may adversely influence psychological well-being. To counteract such a consequence, more specific cognitive and academic skill-oriented strategies should be taken into consideration
