The present study investigated the construct validity of the PSS in a community-based sample of Norwegian father-mother dyads with a child aged 4. A total of 1030 mothers and fathers ( N = 515 dyads) responded to the PSS, which is a much used instrument that assesses stress related to childrearing …

    Open Access•Silje S Hukkelberg, Silje Hukkelberg et al.•ARTICLE•Family Relations•2021

Objective The aims of this study were (a) to examine how different parenting practices connect to each other and to child conduct problems (variable‐centered approach) and (b) to identify groups of parents who share the same parenting style and identify how these relate to child conduct problems (person‐centered approach). Background Substantial evidence indicates that positive parenting practices are associated with lower levels of child conduct…

    Open Access•Bo T Hansen, Silje S Hukkelberg et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2011

The likelihood of attendance in an organized screening program was higher among women who were aware of cervical screening, which suggests a potential for a higher attendance rate through improving the public knowledge of screening. Further, the lower awareness among opportunistic than reminded attendees suggests that physicians may inform their patients better when smears are taken at the physician's initiative
