    密教経軌,特に儀礼の作法を説く儀軌中には,「宝物」などの漢訳で示されるsiddhadravyaについての記述が散見される.本論文では,このsiddhadravyaが具体的にどのような物を指しているかを,いくつかの用例を提示しながら明らかにすることを目的としている.これまでこの術語に関して明確に示された論述は見られず,またMonierには“any magical object”という意味が挙げられているのみであったが,いくかの密教経軌の用例から判断すればsiddhadravyaの定義としては大まかに以下の二つの分類が提示され得ることが明らかとなった

    密教経軌中には,末世の行者,衆生を形容する種々の記述が認められる.しかしながら,これまでの密教研究においては,密教経軌中の末世観について扱っているものは少なく,各密教経軌中における末世に対する密教行者の思想と,末世への対応がいかになされてきたかを知ることが出来ない.本論文では,Mañjuśriyamūlakalpa (MMK)やAmoghapāśakalparāja (APK)あるいは仏教版Bhūtaḍāmaratantra (BBT)を始めとする,サンスクリットが現存する密教経軌を主たる典拠として,密教経軌中に見ることの出来る「末世」「末法」「仏滅後」という記述を提示し,密教行者たちの末世観と,その思想に対する態度を明らかにした

    タントラ文献がその秘匿性を保つ方法としてはsandhyā-bhāṣā(あるいはsandhā-bhāṣā)という隠語の機能を備えた密意語(あるいは,たそがれの/含みをもった言葉)という術語が挙げられる.またタントラ仏教文献で,ある単語が特殊な意味合いで用いられる文脈が存在し,暗号の様に用いられる語が見受けられる.また,マントラの暗号化とその解読の法則を含むmantroddhāraが挙げられる.これは特定の語や図形を用いてマントラを暗号化,観想する法則も含み,類似の方法はヒンドゥータントラ文献に多く認められる.本論文では,Hevajratantra(HT)内の暗号化の法則とヒンドゥー教版Bhūtaḍāmaratantra(HBT)のマントラの暗号化の法則を提示し,HBTの暗号化の特徴を明らかにすることを目的とする.仏教版Bhūtaḍāmaratantra(BBT)では,HBTに見られるようなマントラの暗号化はなされていない.その為,BBT内のマントラとHBTのマントラを対照することで,HBT…
