    This article examines Diane Kurys's Entre Nous (1983) and Chantai Akerman's Les Rendez‐vous d'Anna (1978) and Window Shopping (1986). Born after the war years, both filmmakers use an autobiographical persona who ‘remembers’ the war through the memories of a parental generation, particularly through the mother.
