  • Effects of menthol cigarette and e-cigarette flavour restrictions on tobacco product purchasing: Insights from the Experimental Tobacco Marketplace

    Roberta Freitas-Lemos, Jacob Williams et al.•ARTICLE•Tobacco Control•2026

This study experimentally demonstrated that menthol cigarette bans reduce cigarette purchases. Additionally, flavour restrictions on cigarettes and e-cigarettes distinctly influence substitution patterns, with a menthol cigarette ban encouraging switching to e-cigarettes, while an e-cigarette flavour restriction increases NRT purchasing. As policymakers consider strategies to reduce tobacco-related harms, these findings highlight the need to care…

  • Switching to cigarette brand variants with different filter ventilation levels: A descriptive analysis

Dana Mowls Carroll, Katelyn Tessier et al.•ARTICLE•Tobacco Control•2023

Switching to CBV with lower FV does not appear to increase exposure and may even reduce exposure for some. Additional investigations are recommended to confirm these descriptive findings

  • Now for Me, Later for Us? Effects of Group Context on Temporal Discounting

    Open Access•Shawn R Charlton, Richard Yi et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Behavioral Decision…•2011•Cited by: 1•References: 4

Delayed rewards are less valuable than immediate rewards. This well-established finding has focused almost entirely on individual outcomes. However, are delayed rewards similarly discounted if they are shared by a group? The current article reports on three experiments exploring the effect of group context on delay discounting. Results indicate that discount rates of individual and group rewards were highly correlated, but that respondents were m…
