  • Dynamic processes in narcissism and affect across Chinese and American individuals

Yuping Liu, Bingtao Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Personality and Social…•2026

594, observations = 26,802) and an existing American data set (N = 862, observations = 36,631) to investigate the dynamics of narcissism and affect in daily life. Using dynamic structural equation modeling, we characterized these dynamics through key indicators-mean, variability, contemporaneous correlations, autoregressive effects, and cross-lagged effects-and examined their intercorrelations and associations with dispositional variables. Result…

  • The influences of acculturation strategies on physician trust among internal migrants in Shanghai, China

Open Access•Enhong Dong, Yue Yan et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Purpose This study aimed to clarify patterns of Berry’s acculturation strategy and further identify the factors influencing physician trust among internal migrants. Methods This study used a sample of 1,200 respondents of Shanghai’s migrant population through an online survey (Wenjuanxing platform) from January 2021 to December 2021. K-means cluster analysis and multivariate logistic regression models were used to identify acculturation strategy …

  • What are the key factors contributing to the inequity in healthcare resource allocation? Evidence from China’s health panel data from 2009 to 2021

Open Access•Enhong Dong, Tingting Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: As economic growth drives higher demand for health services, equitable health resource allocation becomes crucial to meet diverse healthcare needs. Since China's reform and opening-up, increased government healthcare investment has not fully resolved regional disparities. Existing studies, often relying on methods other than the concentration index, fail to comprehensively analyze the link between resource inequities and economic fact…

  • Comparison of three models of child maltreatment

Open Access•Xingyu Chen, Yuping Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2025

  • Global, regional, and national burden of chronic kidney disease and its underlying etiologies from 1990 to 2021

Open Access•Ling Deng, Shujin Guo et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The study unveiled the uneven global distribution of the burden of CKD and its attributable causes. From 1990 to 2021, an increase in the burden of incidence, mortality, and DALYs due to CKD was observed. Population growth and aging will contribute to a further increase in the burden of CKD. Healthcare providers should develop health policies, and optimize the allocation of medical resources, based on age, sex, region, and disease type

  • Mooc-virtual simulation integration enhances surgical clinical skills

Open Access•Wang Zhang, Zonghuan Li et al.•ARTICLE•Medical Education Online•2025

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a teaching model combining massive open online course (MOOC) with virtual simulation experiments on clinical skills training. A quasi-experimental design was employed in the Second Clinical College of Wuhan University. The control group received traditional face-to-face teaching, while the experimental group received a teaching model combining MOOC instruction with virtual simulation experiments. After c…

  • Mediating effects of social support and presenteeism on turnover intention and post-traumatic stress disorder among Chinese nurses in the post-pandemic era

Open Access•Jingshuo Zhang, Xin Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Background The shift in national policies for epidemic prevention and control in the post-pandemic era is undoubtedly a challenge for health care professionals. Nurses, as an important part of the health care professional population, have an even greater impact on their mental health and occupational safety. This may expose nurses to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and presenteeism, and ultimately lead to their turnover. Objective This stud…

  • How does emotion shape aggressive behavior of violent offenders? An explanation based on emotion regulation theory

Open Access•Yuping Liu, Bingtao Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2022

Emotion is considered to be an important factor affecting aggressive behavior. According to emotion regulation theory, distressed people hope to improve their moods, and the motivation to use aggression to improve mood will increase aggressive behavior. In other words, the expectation of emotions is an important factor in the generation of aggressive behavior. Previous theories and studies mostly focused on the role of negative emotions such as a…

Open Access•Yuping Liu, Xiao Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2021

  • Evidence for Holocene megafloods down the tsangpo River gorge, Southeastern Tibet

    Open Access•David R Montgomery, B Hallet et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2004

Lacustrine and alluvial terraces and sediments record the extent of at least two Holocene glacially dammed lakes immediately upstream of the Tsangpo River gorge at the eastern syntaxis of the Himalaya. The larger lake covered 2835 km 2 , with a maximum depth of 680 m and contained an estimated 832 km 3 of water; the smaller lake contained an estimated 80 km 3 of water. Radiocarbon dating of wood and charcoal yielded conventional radiocarbon ages …

  • Developing a scale to measure the interactivity of websites

    Yuping Liu•ARTICLE•Journal of Advertising Research•2003

This article describes the development and validation of a scale measuring the interactivity of websites. Three studies were conducted to verify the factor structure, content validity, discriminant validity, and reliability of the scale. Results from the studies showed that interactivity comprises three correlated but distinct dimensions: active control, two-way communication, and synchronicity. The multidimensional scale showed a high level of v…

  • What is Interactivity and is it Always Such a Good Thing? Implications of Definition, Person, and Situation for the Influence of Interactivity on Advertising Effectiveness

    Yuping Liu, L J Shrum•ARTICLE•Journal of Advertising•2002

Most perceptions of interactivity are that it is an inherently good thing, that it will change marketing and advertising as we know it. However, though there are obvious and intuitive advantages to interactivity, it may pose a disadvantage for marketing and advertising in some conditions. In this article, we explore the nature of interactivity and its underlying processes to determine the conditions in which interactivity may be both useful and d…
