HPV vaccination willingness and behavior among patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in low-resource areas of Western China
Background Research on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination willingness and behavior among patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) remains limited, although such evidence is essential for improving disease prevention. Methods A knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) questionnaire was administered to CIN patients aged 20–60 years in Gansu Province, China to explore HPV vaccine willingness and its influencing factors. Logistic regress…
Temporal trends in cervical cancer incidence and mortality in economically emerging countries, 1992–2021
INTRODUCTION: The economically emerging countries contributed to over half of the global cervical cancer (CC) burden and are good examples showing how rapid economic growth and health policy change affect the trends of CC burden. This study aimed to analyse the time trends of CC burden across Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) and associations with age, period and birth cohort from 1992 to 2021. METHODS: Data on CC incident cas…
Delays in follow-up among women with abnormal results
The overall follow-up rate and quality among women with abnormal screening results showed significant regional variability, and still required to be improved. Moreover, women with higher age and lower educational levels were particularly at high risk for delayed follow-up care and deserved more attention
Implementation and maintenance of breast cancer screening among Chinese rural women
To improve cancer detection in rural areas, it is essential to strengthen both the screening capacity of primary healthcare facilities and the patient referral system for timely diagnosis. "Rural outreach" is an effective way to reduce health inequity in marginalized women and increase their awareness at the same time. Further research is needed to assess long-term outcomes and develop customized implementation strategies for overcoming the ident…
Exploring Counseling Dropout Rates Among International College Students with Disabilities
Little is known about the experiences of international students with disabilities in counseling services. Due to challenges for international students, higher levels of distress and cases of dropout from counseling at university counseling centers are expected. Researchers used data from the Center for Collegiate Mental Health (CCMH) to explore the interaction between international student status and disability status on counseling dropout. Data …
Knowledge, Attitude, and Uptake of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination among Chinese Female Adults
Synergy of arsenic with smoking in causing cardiovascular disease mortality
Background To explore the patterns of the exposure-response relationship between arsenic exposure and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and investigate the effect of cigarette smoking on the association. Methods Seven thousand seven hundred thirty-five tin miners with at least 10 years of arsenic exposure were enrolled since 1992 and followed up for 27 years. Each individual's air arsenic exposure at workplace was calculated by time weighted…
Effect of an educational intervention on HPV knowledge and vaccine attitudes among urban employed women and female undergraduate students in China
Incorporation of our lecture-based education initiative into a government-sponsored or school-based program may improve HPV-related knowledge and HPV vaccine acceptability. Further studies are needed to evaluate and standardize HPV education programs in China
