Knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding osteoporosis among hormone receptor-positive breast cancer patients
Objective To investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) concerning osteoporosis among hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer patients. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted from November, 2023, to March, 2024 among HR+ breast cancer patients to assess their KAP regarding osteoporosis. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to assess the relationships among the KAP dimensions. Results A total of 758 HR+ breas…
Successful virologic outcomes over time among Haart-treated HIV-infected patients
Few large studies evaluated the effects of time trends on virologic suppression in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in China. To address this, An retrospective observational longitudinal study was conducted. We examined annual trends in the rate of virologic suppression, the viral load at the time of virologic suppression, and other determinants of virologic suppression in Zhejiang Province, China in PLWHA between January 2013 and July 2018. P…
Dynamic Nomogram for Predicting Long-Term Survival in Terms of Preoperative and Postoperative Radiotherapy Benefits for Advanced Gastric Cancer
Studies on the prognostic significance of preoperative radiotherapy (PERT) and postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) in patients with advanced gastric cancer (GC) remain elusive. The aim of the study was to evaluate the survival advantage of preoperative and postoperative radiotherapy and construct a dynamic nomogram model to provide customized prediction of the probability of prognostic events for advanced GC patients. We collected clinical records …
Evaluating the Impact of Sars-CoV-2 Variants on the Covid-19 Epidemic and Social Restoration in the United States
Background: Multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants are still rampant across the United States (US). We aimed to evaluate the impact of vaccination scale-up and potential reduction in the vaccination effectiveness on the COVID-19 epidemic and social restoration in the US. Methods: We extended a published compartmental model and calibrated the model to the latest US COVID-19 data. We estimated the vaccine effectiveness against the variant and evaluated the i…
Intention and Attitude to Accept a Pertussis Cocooning Vaccination among Chinese Children’s Guardians
Chinese children's guardians held positive intentions and attitudes toward accepting a pertussis cocooning vaccination. The current findings described the determinants of such intention and attitude and provided knowledge based on improving guardians' intentions for policymakers if cocooning vaccinations or related immunization strategies are implemented in China in the future
Arima and Arima-ERNN models for prediction of pertussis incidence in mainland China from 2004 to 2021
The fitting and prediction performances of the ARIMA-ERNN model were better than those of the ARIMA model. This provides theoretical support for the prediction of infectious diseases and should be beneficial to public health decision making
Association between multimorbidity patterns and disability among older people covered by long-term care insurance in Shanghai, China
Multimorbidity and functional disability are highly prevalent among older people covered by long-term care insurance in Shanghai, and distinct multimorbidity patterns are differentially associated with functional disability. Appropriate long-term healthcare and prevention strategies for older people may help reduce multimorbidity, maintain functional ability, and improve health-related quality of life
Social support, stigma, and the mediating roles of depression on self-reported medication adherence of Haart recipients in China
Discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is a persistent issue in China, which affects their psychological health. However, the association between psychological factors and adherence to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has not been systematically investigated before. Therefore, this study examined the impact of social support, depression, and medication-taking self-efficacy on ART adherence among PLWHA based on Cha et al…
