  • Witnessing Domestic Violence and Adolescent Test Anxiety

Open Access•Haozhe Tian, Zhenhui Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•Child & Family Social Work•2026

Exposure to domestic violence is a significant risk factor for adolescent mental health, yet its association with situational anxiety, particularly test anxiety, remains underexplored. This study examined the serial mediation of neuroticism and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the link between witnessing domestic violence and test anxiety. Using structural equation modelling (SEM), this study analysed data from 612 junior hi…

  • Forged in conflict

Haowei Wang, Suhong Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Labor History•2026•References: 11

This article examines the suppression of labor movements in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia from 1945 to the 1980s through comparative historical analysis. Drawing on newly declassified diplomatic archives, intelligence documents, and internal party records, it demonstrates that the decline of organized labor resulted from deliberate strategies of containment implemented through collaboration between local state elites and external Cold …

  • From post-conflict reconstruction to transnational labor mobility

Haowei Wang, Hanwen Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Labor History•2026•References: 20

This article provides a political-economic historical analysis of Cambodian labor migration to Thailand, challenging the explanatory sufficiency of the neoclassical push-pull paradigm that dominates existing scholarship. While acknowledging the descriptive utility of push-pull models in mapping proximate migration determinants, the study argues that the structural vulnerability of the Cambodian labor force – conventionally treated as exogenous ‘p…

  • The role of eddy-wind interaction in the eddy kinetic energy budget of the Agulhas retroflection region

Open Access•Yanan Zhu, Yuanlong Li et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2023

The Agulhas retroflection (AR) region possesses the highest eddy kinetic energy (EKE) level in the Indian Ocean. However, mechanisms regulating EKE of the AR remain uncertain. Here, by analyzing an eddy-resolving coupled model simulation with improved EKE representation, we show that the upper-ocean EKE of the AR is mainly generated through barotropic instability in its upstream and leakage zones and is by nonlocal transport in its downstream zon…

  • A mental health survey among young front-line clinicians in high-risk areas during the Covid-19 sporadic epidemic in China

Open Access•Xingbo Suo, Yang Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

The prevalence of depression, anxiety, and even anxiety-depression comorbidity was high among young front-line clinicians in high-risk areas during the COVID-19 sporadic epidemic in China. Various biological and psychological factors as well as COVID-19-related factors were associated with mental health issues and QOL. Psychological intervention should evaluate these related factors and formulate measures for these high-risk groups

  • Impact of risk factors, activities and psychological disorders on the health of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in China

Open Access•Lei Zhang, Peian Lou et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2013

COPD severity was significantly correlated with behavior (especially regarding smoking and cooking with biofuel in confined spaces), physical strength, daily living activities, social activities, anxiety and depression. Comprehensive approaches are required for the prevention and treatment of COPD

  • Vulnerability, beliefs, treatments and economic burden of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in rural areas in China

Open Access•Peian Lou, Yanan Zhu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2012

The vulnerability of patients in rural Xuzhou to COPD was high. Their awareness of COPD was poor, their treatment during both the stable and acute exacerbation stages did not meet standards, and the economic burdens were large. Interventions are therefore needed to improve the prevention and management of COPD in this population. Further studies are required to verify these findings
