  • Advances in research on thermogenic substances

Open Access•Mengdi Tao, Yutong Gao et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of PHYSIOLOGICAL…•2026

In mammals, a constant body temperature is maintained for survival in cold environments, primarily through the activation of thermogenic mechanisms. In this review, we discussed the advances in research on cold-adaptive thermogenic substances and their regulation. First, we outlined the primary thermogenic responses to cold exposure, including shivering thermogenesis (ST) and non-shivering thermogenesis (NST), and emerging thermogenic pathways. N…

  • Effect of exercise-induced muscle fatigue on reaction times under postural perturbation conditions in individuals with and without chronic low back pain

Open Access•Hao Xie, Wenwu Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2026

Background Total reaction time (TRT), composed of premotor time (PMT) and electromechanical delay (EMD), is susceptible to muscle fatigue and can be affected by pain. Limited evidence is available regarding the postural control capacity of patients with chronic low back pain(cLBP) following muscle fatigue-induced postural perturbation. This study aimed to examine the impact of pain and muscle fatigue on reaction time, so as to gain insights into …

  • The influence of sports technology device usage on middle-aged health anxiety

Open Access•Feixuan Li, Jiahui Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background: The accelerating aging of the population and the digital transformation of health management have created new challenges for middle-aged cohorts (MACs). These individuals face escalating health anxiety (HA) stemming from declining physiological functions and compounded social role pressures. Sports technology devices (STDs) offer novel behavioral intervention pathways through real-time monitoring and data feedback. However, their buff…

  • The impact of physical activities on adolescents’ rule consciousness

Open Access•Jiahui Peng, Li Cao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Introduction: With the increasing emphasis on the development of adolescents' character and behavior in modern society, how to effectively cultivate adolescents' rule awareness has become a pressing issue in the field of education. Despite the increasing emphasis on developing adolescents' character and behavior, educators face significant challenges in cultivating rule awareness. Traditional educational practices often fall short in integrating …

  • The impact of physical exercise on death anxiety in older adults

Open Access•Feixuan Li, Jiahui Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Our cross-sectional findings suggest that physical exercise is not only directly associated with lower death anxiety in older adults, but may also be linked through a chain of psychological resources involving self-efficacy and psychological resilience. These findings offer a theoretical basis for future longitudinal and interventional research aimed at constructing integrated "exercise-psychology" intervention models

  • Association of physical activity patterns including “weekend warrior” with mortality in adults with chronic lower respiratory diseases

Open Access•Rong Zhou, Jiahui Peng et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Regular physical activity significantly reduces mortality risk in both healthy individuals and those with COPD. Even activity below recommended levels confers some benefits
