Mammal Phylogeny: Mesozoic Differentiation, Multituberculates, Monotremes, Early Therians, and Marsupials
Mammal Phylogeny: Mesozoic Differentiation, Multituberculates, Monotremes, Early Therians, and Marsupials
Mammal Phylogeny
The unresolved world between taxonomy and population biology: What Is, and What Is Not, Macroevolution
Evolution of permanent estrus displays in hominids
Vertebrates, phylogeny, and philosophy: A tribute to George Gaylord Simpson
The paleogene of Asia: Mammals and stratigraphy
Evolution of hallucial grasping in the primates
Diagnosis and differentiation of the order primates
We contrast our approach to a phylogenetic diagnosis of the order Primates, and its various supraspecific taxa, with definitional procedures. The order, which we divide into the semiorders Paromomyiformes and Euprimates, is clearly diagnosable on the basis of well-corroborated information from the fossil record. Lists of derived features which we hypothesize to have been fixed in the first representative species of the Primates, Euprimates, Strep…
The foot of Oreopithecus: An Evolutionary Assessment
Middle paleocene euprimate from Southern China and the distribution of primates in the paleogene
Evolutionary History of the Primates
Constructing primate phylogenies: A search for testable hypotheses with maximum empirical content
Approaches to Primate Paleobiology
Hunting-Scavenging Protohominids: A Model for Hominid Origins
Critique de la these de Jolly (in Man, 1970, t.5) sur l'evolution des premiers hominides. Reinterpretation de la fonction des dents et reconstitution du regime alimentaire, de l'habitat et du comportement
Cranial morphology of the early tertiary Phenacolemur and its bearing on primate phylogeny
An early Eocene skull of the paromomyid Phenacolemur , a plesiadapoid primate, is described with particular emphasis on the ear region. The auditory bulla is composed of the petrosal and of a large ectotympanic plate which is outside of the bulla. The preserved morphology of the middle ear is distinctly more primitive than that of the older Plesiadapis . It cannot be determined with certainty whether Phenacolemur had the carotid circulation enclo…
