  • Sex differences in the associations between socioeconomic status and all-cause mortality in Chinese adults with abnormal glucose metabolism: A prospective study

    Open Access•Jiamin Yan, Jia-min Yan et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Low SES was associated with higher all-cause mortality in Chinese adults with abnormal glucose metabolism, particularly among males. These findings underscore the need for targeted public health interventions addressing SES-related disparities to reduce mortality in this population

  • Residential greenness, air pollution and visual impairment: A prospective cohort study

    Open Access•Jiamin Yan, Jia-min Yan et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

This study suggests that increased residential greenness may reduce the risk of visual impairment, partially by mitigating air pollution exposure. These findings highlight the environmental benefits to improve air quality and enhance green spaces, thereby promoting visual health in aging populations

  • Association of changes and cumulative measures of triglyceride-glucose index-body mass index with hypertension risk: A prospective cohort study

    Open Access•Jiamin Yan, Min-zhe Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Changes in TyG-BMI and cumulative TyG-BMI were associated with an increased risk of hypertension, as well as higher cumulative SBP and DBP in Chinese middle-aged and elderly population

  • The transition of eldercare responsibility and traditional filial piety concepts and its urban-rural differences in China: An age-period-cohort analysis from 2006 to 2017

    Open Access•Xiangxiang Liu, Hong-jie Yu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

The traditional concept that eldercare solely relies on offspring has changed to relying on multiple entities, including the government and self-reliance. Diluted filial piety in people born in the young cohort requires reinforcement. Moreover, future healthy aging policies need to focus more on urban-rural disparities to promote equity in social well-being

  • Child neglect and eating habits in primary schoolchildren: A prospective study in Wuhan, China

    Open Access•Hongjie Yu, Hong-jie Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Appetite•2022•Cited by: 2•References: 37

  • Sex-Related Difference in the Association Between Child Neglect and the Accuracy of Body Weight Perception Among Chinese Primary Schoolchildren

Open Access•Hongjie Yu, Hong-jie Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2021

Introduction: Body weight perception (BWP) directly determines weight management behaviors. Although child neglect is a well-established risk factor for managing body weight, little is known about its association with the accuracy of BWP. This study aimed to assess the cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between child neglect and BWP accuracy in primary schoolchildren, and explore how these differ based on the sex of the child. Methods:…
