Associations of parental connectedness and monitoring with high-risk behaviors among Malaysian adolescents
This study found that parental connectedness and monitoring were significantly associated with lower odds of engaging in high-risk behaviors among Malaysian adolescents, with notable variations by ethnicity, parental marital status, and region. Strengthening parental involvement and addressing disparities in family dynamics are essential strategies for promoting adolescent health and well-being in Malaysia
Prevalence of high 10-year cardiovascular risk among the general population in Malaysia and the associated factors
The prevalence of high 10-year CVD risk among the general adult population in Malaysia is high. Lower education level, sleep inadequacy, physical inactivity, and fatty liver are independent factors associated with a high 10-year CVD risk. Health policymakers, programme managers, and clinicians should screen, identify, and treat people with a high 10-year CVD risk to prevent cardiovascular complications

The burden of premature mortality among older adults
Non-communicable diseases (NCD) remained the largest contributor to premature mortality among older adults in Malaysia. Implementation of population-level NCD health promotion programmes, screening programmes among high-risk groups and holistic intervention programmes among populations living with NCD are critical in reducing the overall burden of premature mortality
