  • Platelet indices and incident hypertension

Open Access•Zekai Chen, Zhen He et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Health•2026

Background: Routine platelet indices have been linked to blood pressure and vascular risk. However, longitudinal evidence on the association between platelet count (PLT), mean platelet volume (MPV), plateletcrit (PCT), and platelet distribution width (PDW) and incident hypertension remains limited, and it is unclear whether these associations differ according to adiposity. We aimed to examine associations of PLT, MPV, PCT, and PDW with incident h…

  • Associations of sleep, sedentary behavior, and physical activity during out-of-school time and the risk of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents

Open Access•Zekai Chen, Peijie Chen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

During out-of-school time, SB demonstrated a cross-sectional dose-response association with a heightened likelihood of overweight and obesity in childhood. Conversely, sleep and MVPA displayed a contrasting dose-response association with overweight and obesity risk when compared to SB. Substituting SB with sleep or PA might potentially mitigate the risk of overweight and obesity

  • Machine learning with the body roundness index and associated indicators

Open Access•Yejun He, Yaxuan He et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The combination of BRI and machine learning provides a non-invasive and effective method for predicting MetS and offers a promising strategy for its early prevention. Machine learning models demonstrate significant advantages over baseline rule-based models in terms of sensitivity and predictive performance

  • Using synchronized eye movements to assess attentional engagement

Open Access•Qing Liu, Xueyao Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Research•2023

  • Prolonged hyperlipidemia exposure increases the risk of arterial stiffness in young adults

Open Access•Haojia Chen, Youren Chen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2020

Name of the registry: Risk factors and intervention for cardiology, cerebrovascular and related disease (Kailuan Study) Trial registration number: CHiCTR-TNC1100 1489 Date of registration: Aug 24, 2011 URL of trial registry record: http://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=8050
