  • Demographic Control Measure Implications of Tuberculosis Infection for Migrant Workers across Taiwan Regions

    Open Access•Szu‐Chieh Chen, Tzu‐Yun Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

A sharp increase in migrant workers has raised concerns for TB epidemics, yet optimal TB control strategies remain unclear in Taiwan regions. This study assessed intervention efforts on reducing tuberculosis (TB) infection among migrant workers. We performed large-scale data analyses and used them to develop a control-based migrant worker-associated susceptible-latently infected-infectious-recovered (SLTR) model. We used the SLTR model to assess …

  • Probabilistic Risk Analysis to Assess Dietary Exposure to Aluminum in the Taiwanese Population

    Open Access•Shu‐Han You, Szu‐Chieh Chen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Aluminum (Al) exposure at human dietary levels raises health concerns, yet little is known about the Al exposure from the Taiwanese diet. The amount of aluminum (Al)-containing food consumption in the Taiwanese total diet is increasing, which contributes to the total diet consumption., which raises the health concerns. In this study, we aim to assess estimated weekly intake (EWI) and the percentage of provisional tolerable weekly intake (%PTWI) o…

  • Assessing trends and predictors of tuberculosis in Taiwan

    Open Access•Chung‐Min Liao, Chung-Min Liao et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2012

The proposed Poisson regression model is capable of forecasting patterns of TB incidence at regional and national scales. This study suggested that assessment of TB trends in eastern Taiwan presents an important opportunity for understanding the time-series dynamics and control of TB infections, given that this is the typical host demography in regions where these infections remain major public health problems
