The Impact of Artificial Intelligence-Supported Instruction on Student Learning in STEM: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into educational contexts has introduced innovative instructional approaches, particularly within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Although an increasing number of empirical studies have examined AI-supported instruction, existing findings remain heterogeneous, making it difficult to draw firm conclusions about its overall effectiveness. This stu…
Identifying and interpreting gendered violence: Visual literacy in an audience reception study of Issa López' Casi Divas
We present an audience reception study of participant reactions to gender‐based violence in Issa López' 2008 film, Casi Divas , chosen for its nuanced depiction of women grappling with several violences. Over three focus groups with 15 adult participants, we used Galtung's conflict theory to explore what participants identified as violence, and how victims should respond to violence in various forms. We find that participants have a narrow defini…

The Culture of Multiculturalism and Racialized Art
This article invites scholars of race and migration to look at the visual arts more closely within the framework of comparative race theory. This knowledge is mediated by the racial logic of neoliberal multiculturalism. Specifically, w…
Fluid adaptation of contested citizenship: Second-generation migrant Turks in Germany and the United States
This paper explores belonging in the context of legal citizenship for second-generation Turkish immigrants in Berlin and in New York. Fluid adaptation refers to the discursive boundaries of immigrant identity articulations, the contextual and shifting adjustments immigrants make to their sense of belonging. Immigrant belonging, gauged by ‘encounters’ with bureaucracies and participatory expressions, is shaped in large part by the receiving state'…

A Unique Diaspora? The Case of Adopted Girls from the People's Republic of China
This article considers the recent and ongoing international adoptions of Chinese girls and argues that these adoptions are creating a unique kind of diaspora. The two most salient features of these adoptions are, firstly, that they are taking place on a relatively large scale to fourteen Western countries; and, secondly, that about 98% of the adoptees are girls. As we attempt to frame and understand this phenomenon, we refer to literature on trad…
