  • Character strengths as protective factors against depression and suicidality among male and female employees

Open Access•Hye Ri Kim, Sun Mi Kim et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

We suggest that focusing on "judgement" and "kindness" in female employees, and "teamwork" and "creativity" in male employees, and engaging in activities that use these strengths at the workplace can be protective factors against depression and suicidality. Future research should focus on developing interventions to promote these character strengths among employees at the workplace

  • Availability Verification of Effluent from BFT Inland Aquaculture for Urban Agricultural Fertilizer through Cherry Tomato Cultivation

Open Access•Yong Hyun Kim, Moo-Ryong Huh et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2017

As the interest in urban agriculture and people's demand for eco-friendly food grow, the number of urban gardeners who directly grow and harvest will increase. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of conventional fertilizer with the effluent water from the biofloc technology inland aquaculture in the concept of resource circulation as a substitute for fertilizer used in urban agriculture. In order to verify the effect of fertilizer on …

  • Agricultural Recycling of BFT Inland Aquaculture Effluent for Blueberry ‘Duke’ Cultivation

Open Access•Yong Hyun Kim, Moo-Ryong Huh et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of People, Plants, and…•2017

As an aquaculture effluent is recognized as a source of water pollution, many methods are being researched to solve this problem. It has been reported that the aquaculture effluent contains many organic compounds containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and calcium. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of using the effluent from bio-floc technology (BFT) inland aquaculture for fertilizing blueberry 'Duke' to promote the…

  • Features of Resting-State Electroencephalogram Theta Coherence in Somatic Symptom Disorder Compared With Major Depressive Disorder

Jaeyoung Ahn, Doug Hyun Han et al.•ARTICLE•Psychosomatic Medicine•2017

OBJECTIVE: Somatic symptom disorder (SSD) often co-occurs with major depressive disorder (MDD). Both conditions share common psychobiological and biobehavioral characteristics, but little is known about differential patterns in brain function. In this study, we compared resting-state functional brain connectivity between SSD and MDD using quantitative electroencephalography. METHODS: Fifteen patients with SSD (SSD group), 15 patients with MDD (MD…
