  • Accelerating Soil Nutrient Supply and Enhancing Tomato Antioxidant System and Yield via Bacillus subtilis ‐Assisted Micro‐Nano Bubble Irrigation

Open Access•Xinyu Nie, Yuan Li et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

While micro‐nano bubble irrigation (MNBI) and Bacillus subtilis offer significant benefits for improving soil conditions and enhancing crop yields, their combined effects remain unclear. This two‐year greenhouse study examined the combined effects of MNBI and Bacillus subtilis on soil enzyme activity, nutrient cycling, antioxidant system, yield, and economic benefits in tomatoes. Five treatments were established: subsurface drip irrigation (CK), …

  • Burden trends and future predictions for hypertensive heart disease attributable to non-optimal temperatures in the older adults amidst climate change, 1990–2021

Open Access•Can Xu, Xinyu Nie et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: Hypertensive heart disease (HHD) is a significant form of end-organ damage caused by hypertension, with profound impacts on global health and quality of life. Temperature anomalies driven by climate change, particularly extremes of heat and cold, are increasingly recognized as major contributors to the cardiovascular disease burden, notably impacting HHD. However, the specific spatiotemporal trends and gender-based differences in the …

  • Smartphone usage behaviors and their association with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis (DQT)among college students

Open Access•Xinyu Nie, Lihong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

Our findings suggest that increased smartphone usage time, phone games, social media, and leisure activities elevate the risk of DQT among college students. Furthermore, two specific gestures and two screen sizes were also linked to a heightened DQT risk. To mitigate DQT development, college students should reduce smartphone usage time and adopt appropriate gestures
