Care complexity and inequities in caregiving time for undiagnosed infants and toddlers with special health care needs: A cross-sectional study in Japan
Infants and toddlers with complex medical needs often rely on consistent caregiving and health services. However, when such children remain undiagnosed, their needs may be overlooked by health and social support systems, leading to unequal access to care. This study aimed to explore how caregiving time differs according to the complexity of health care needs among children younger than 3 years of age in Japan, with particular attention to those w…
Positive Association of Physical Activity with Both Objective and Perceived Measures of the Neighborhood Environment among Older Adults: The Aichi Workers’ Cohort Study
We examined the association between objective and perceived neighborhood characteristics and self-reported leisure-time physical activity (PA) in older Japanese residents living in areas ranging from metropolitan to rural in 2016. Objective measures used were walkability and the numbers of parks/green spaces and sports facilities within 500 or 1000 m of subjects' homes, calculated using geographic information systems. Subjective measures were the…
Descriptive epidemiological study of food intake among Japanese adults: Analyses by age, time and birth cohort model
The present analysis suggests intakes of meat and confectionary have increased in Japan over the past 20 years regardless of age and generation. Also, younger individuals are less likely to consume fruits, fish, beans and vegetables regardless of the birth cohort and time period. Differences in food group consumption by birth cohorts born between 1930 and 1979 were not obvious. The first indication of these findings would be that in order to avoi…
P1-347 Physical activity and all-cause mortality: Findings from the Japan collaborative cohort study
Purpose To examine prospectively the association between physical activity and risk of all-cause death in Japanese population. Methods We analysed data from the Japan Collaborative Cohort (JACC) Study, which included 70 048 participants (29 550 men and 40 498 women), aged 40–79 years at baseline (1988–1990), who reported no previous history of cancer, and provided information on their walking and exercise habits. The subjects were followed prospe…
P1-477 Relationship between pregnancy or childbirth satisfaction and willingness for subsequent pregnancy in Japan
Introduction In Japan, a survey of children and their parents was conducted to assess national campaign “Sukoyaka Family 21” in 2009. Our aim was to clarify the relationship between pregnancy or childbirth satisfaction and willingness for subsequent pregnancy. Methods Children aged 3–4 months, 18 months, or 3 years who underwent medical check-up in 138 cities and their mothers were surveyed. Data from 5500 children aged 3–4 months and their mothe…
Perceived Psychologic Stress and Colorectal Cancer Mortality: Findings From the Japan Collaborative Cohort Study
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between perceived psychologic stress and colorectal cancer mortality in a prospective large-scale study.
