  • Association between sleep duration and disability in activities of daily living among Chinese older adults

Open Access•Dahuan Cai, Yanxin Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: This study aims to explore the relationship between sleep duration and Activity of Daily Living (ADL) disability among older adults in China. ADL disability severely impacts the quality of life of older adults and is associated with various physical and mental health issues. With the aging population in China, the burden of ADL disability is increasing. Methods: Data were sourced from the 2018 national follow-up of the Chinese Longitu…

  • Association of exposure to PM2.5-bound metals with premature rupture of membranes

Open Access•Mengdan Liang, Liping Qiu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background Exposure to PM 2.5 has been linked to premature rupture of membranes (PROM). However, research on the effects of PM 2.5 -bound metals on the PROM is limited. Methods Here, we investigated this relationship using data from 6090 pregnant women, estimating exposure to 11 PM 2.5 -bound metals throughout pregnancy. Cox models assessed associations between individual metals and PROM, while grouped weighted quantile sum regression (GWQS), qua…

  • The relationship between social exclusion and aggression

Juanjuan JIN, Lei Shao et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2023

  • Impact of Vanadium-Containing Stone Coal Smelting on Trace Metals in an Agricultural Soil–Vegetable System

Open Access•Zhichao Jiang, Xiyuan Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

Dietary exposure to trace metals (TMs) through vegetable consumption has been identified as a potential risk to human health. Fifty-one paired agricultural soil and leaf vegetable samples were collected around V-containing stone coal smelting sites in Hunan Province, China, to study the contamination and transfer characteristics of TMs (Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, V, and Zn) in the soil-vegetable system. The health risk to local residents through vegetable i…

  • 元刻板印象对随迁儿童攻击行为的效应及挫折感的中介作用

Xiaoxiao Huang, Baoshan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2019

Meta-stereotype threat (MST) refers to an unbalanced cognitive state where a person’s negative beliefs on the stereotype that out-group members hold about their own group are activated. Previous research has shown that the activation of negative meta-stereotypes contributes to social behaviors, but the mechanism of MST effects on aggressive behaviors remains unclear. Migrant children are more susceptible to meta-stereotype compared with dominant …
