Comparison of Ammonia Emission Estimation between Passive Sampler and Chamber System in Paddy Soil after Fertilizer Application
Ammonia (NH 3 ) is an important precursor for particulate secondary aerosol formation. This study was conducted to evaluate the applicability of a passive sampler (PAS) for estimating the NH 3 emission from chemical fertilizer application (85 kg-N·ha -1 ) at field scale and to compare the results with a chamber system for the calculation of NH 3 emission flux at lab scale. The application of chemical fertilizer increased the ambient NH 3 concentr…
Effect of HNO3 and H2SO4 on the Paddy Ecosystem
Paddy mesocosms comprising of rice ( Oryza sativa ), snail ( Pomacea canaliculata ), and worm ( Tubifex tubifex ) were used to assess the damage caused by two acids (HNO 3 and H 2 SO 4 ) at predicted no-effect concentration (PNEC) and hazardous concentration for 50% of species (HC 50 ) levels. In the fourth week, the fresh weight and shoot height of O. sativa at H 2 SO 4 -HC 50 were reduced by 83.2% and 30.3%, respectively. Wilted leaves (%) at H…
