Comparison of Virtual Reality-Assisted Visual Training with Conventional Strategies in the Treatment of Bilateral Refractive Amblyopia
Visual training can shorten the time taken to achieve treatment success compared to glasses alone. While VR training seems more effective than CAM training, both are valuable strategies for amblyopic children who respond poorly to glasses alone
Outcomes and eye care knowledge in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment patients with a history of laser refractive surgery for myopia
Purpose To investigate the surgical outcomes and eye care knowledge of patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) who had previously undergone laser refractive surgery (LRS) for myopia in a myopia epidemic area. Methods This retrospective study included patients with primary RRD who underwent surgery and had a history of LRS for myopia at a tertiary medical center. Data were reviewed from medical charts to analyse the surgical outcomes…
Correlation between Endophthalmitis and Stroke Development in Ankylosing Spondylitis Patients
Our studies showed that endophthalmitis increases the risk of stroke in AS patients and endophthalmitis is an independent risk factor for stroke in AS patients. Nonetheless, advanced studies that thoroughly investigate the correlation between endophthalmitis and stroke in AS patients are needed to validate our findings
Relationship between Using Fibrate and Open-Angle Glaucoma in Hyperlipidemic Patients
Our studies showed that using fibrate for over seven years may lead to a lower risk of OAG in patients with hyperlipidemia. Nevertheless, further prospective studies that comprehensively investigate the relationship between using fibrate and OAG are needed
The Importance of Close Follow-Up in Patients with Early-Grade Diabetic Retinopathy
(1) Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) can cause blindness. Current guidelines on diabetic eye care recommend more frequent eye examinations for more severe DR to prevent deterioration. However, close follow-up and early intervention at earlier stages are important for the prevention of disease progression of other diabetes mellitus (DM) complications. The study was designed to investigate the association between different stages of DR in type…
Dingxin Recipe IV attenuates atherosclerosis by regulating lipid metabolism through LXR-α/SREBP1 pathway and modulating the gut microbiota in ApoE-/- mice fed with HFD
DXR IV exhibits potential anti-atherosclerosis effect, which is closely related to lipid metabolism and the gut microbiota. This study may provide novel insights into the mechanism of DXR IV on atherosclerosis and a basis for promising clinical usage
