Too Big or Too Small? The Threshold Effects of City Size on Regional Pollution in China
The relationship between urban agglomeration and environmental pollution was checked using the balanced panel data of 285 cities in China from 2003 to 2016 and applying the fixed-effect model and the threshold effect model. Using the survey data of 21,861 participants from 35 major cities in China in 2018 and 2019, the effect of air quality on participants' mental health was empirically tested based on the ordered probit model.
