  • Full-Digital Workflow for Fabricating a Custom-Made Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) Mandibular Implant

Open Access•Francesco Grecchi, Piero Antonio Zecca et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Direct Laser Metal Sintering (DLMS) is an additive manufacturing (AM) technique that is capable of manufacturing metal parts according to a three-dimensional (3D) design made using computer-assisted-design (CAD) software, thanks to a powerful laser beam that melts selectively micro-powder layers, one on top of the other, until the desired object is generated. With DMLS, it is now possible to fabricate custom-made titanium implants for oral and ma…

  • Integrated 3D Information for Custom-Made Bone Grafts

Open Access•Alessandra Giuliani, Maria Laura Gatto et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

The good mechanical performances of the group with peak temperature, which lasted for 2 hours at 1250 °C, is most likely due to the absence of the α-Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 phase, as revealed by X-ray diffraction. However, we detected its presence after sintering at the same peak temperature for longer times, showing the time-dependence, combined with the temperature-dependence, of the β-Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 to α-Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 transition

  • Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Peri-Implant Soft Tissues around Machined and Direct Metal Laser Sintered (DMLS) Healing Abutments in Humans

Open Access•Carlo Mangano, Francesco Mangano et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Background : Direct metal laser Sintering (DMLS) is an additive manufacturing technique that allows fabrication of dental implants and related components with a highly porous surface. To date, no human studies have investigated the soft tissue adhesion and presence of inflammatory infiltrate with porous DMLS healing abutments (HAs), nor have they compared these with the classic machined ones. Purpose : To evaluate the degree of cell adhesion (int…
