  • Radicular Pathology in Zirconia and Stainless-Steel Crowns in Primary Posterior Teeth

Open Access•Diana Ram, Maayan Sherman et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

Both groups demonstrated high overall success (87%). However, pathology developed more frequently in ZCs compared with SSCs (18% vs. 9%, p = 0.0025). Loss of retention was also higher in ZCs (16% vs. 3%, p = 0.009). No significant associations were found between pathology and patient age, tooth type, or pulp therapy. SSCs demonstrated longer survival (29.1 vs. 25.1 months, p = 0.034) and later onset of pathology (29.1 vs. 12.5 months, p = 0.003).…

  • Comparing Images from Near-Infrared Light Reflection and Bitewing Radiography to Detect Proximal Caries in Primary Teeth

    Open Access•Aviv Shmueli, Avia Fux‐Noy et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2024

No additional diagnostic information can be gleaned from BWR if initial caries lesions in the enamel are not detected by clinical examination or in images from a NIRI scanner, making BWR unnecessary

  • Oral Health Care Delivery for Children During Covid-19 Pandemic—A Retrospective Study

    Open Access•Avia Fux‐Noy, Avia Fux-Noy et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2021

Aim: COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown period following was a very challenging time for pediatric dentistry. We aimed to find whether the characteristics of dental care provided to children at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Hadassah medical center, Jerusalem, Israel, differed between the periods, before COVID-19 outbreak, during the lockdown period and during the period that followed it. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively review…

  • Zinc Oxide Zinc Sulfate versus Zinc Oxide Eugenol as Pulp Chamber Filling Materials in Primary Molar Pulpotomies

Open Access•Moti Moskovitz, Nili Tickotsky et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2021

The long-term effect of Zinc oxide zinc sulfate (Coltosol ® ) dressing material on pulpotomy success and tooth survival has not yet been studied. This study compared the success rates of Zinc oxide zinc sulfate and zinc oxide eugenol as coronal dressing materials post radicular pulp amputation in primary teeth pulpotomies. This study included healthy two- to ten-year-old children who had pulpotomies on primary molars between 2012 and 2018 at the …

  • Laser Tooth Preparation for Pit and Fissure Sealing

Open Access•Yair Schwimmer, Nurit Beyth et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Objectives: Various approaches are available for pit and fissure sealing, including: the use of sealants, with or without mechanical preparation; the use of etching, with or without bonding; and the use of lasers as an alternative to mechanical preparation. The objective of this study is to evaluate pit and fissure sealing by comparing the retention and microleakage of sealants, between mechanical and Er:Yag laser enamel preparation. Methods: Six…
