Social life cycle assessment and its methodological challenges
Social life cycle assessment (S‐LCA) has garnered significant attention in academia and the business sector. To enhance the guidance of S‐LCA application and future research, it is imperative to conduct a thorough analysis of its research status and challenges, considering the extensive development of methodological approaches. Leveraging bibliometric and content analysis on 452 articles from the Web of Science database, this study examines publi…
Adsorption Performance of Cd(II) by Chitosan-Fe3O4-Modified Fish Bone Char
In order to develop a low-cost, fast, and efficient adsorbent, the fish bone charcoal B 600 prepared at 600 °C was modified by chitosan (Cs) and Fe 3 O 4 to produce the material Cs-Fe 3 O 4 -B 600 . Results showed that Cs-Fe 3 O 4 -B 600 had magnetic responsiveness and can achieve solid-liquid separation, macropores disappeared, pore volume and specific surface area are increased, and amino functional groups appear on the surface. The adsorption …
The use of bentonite and organic amendments for remediation of Cd contaminated fields
A successful technique for remediation of cadmium (Cd) contaminated soil could not only reduce its availability but also improve soil biological function. However, there are few studies that evaluate the efficiency of remediation of Cd‐contaminated soil within a sustainability framework. Therefore, a field study was conducted to investigate the remediation effectiveness and environmental impact of Cd‐contaminated vegetable soils using bentonite (…
Potential use of Impatiens balsamina L. for bioremediation of lead and polychlorinated biphenyl contaminated soils
In recent years, due to the improper dismantling of electronic waste (e‐waste) in China, high levels of lead (Pb) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been released into the environment, which posed potential health risks to residents, especially to children. A pot‐culture experiment was carried out to evaluate the phytoremediation potential of PCBs and Pb co‐contaminated soil by the use of Impatiens balsamina L. The results indicated that P…
