  • Long-term evolution of the burden of HIV/Aids in older adults

Open Access•Ruizhuang Sun, SUN Ruizhuang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background: With the widespread implementation of antiretroviral therapy (ART), human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) has gradually transitioned from a highly fatal infectious disease to a manageable chronic condition. Simultaneously, global population aging has accelerated, making older adults with HIV (≥75 years) an increasingly important group in terms of disease burden. However, the epidemiological charact…

  • The moderating role of care duration in the relationship between caregiving competence and burden among family caregivers in hospice care

Open Access•Ziying Yang, Xiaohui Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Caregiving competence is considered an important protective factor in reducing the burden of family caregivers in hospice care. However, whether this relationship is influenced by caregiving duration remains unclear. Previous studies have typically treated caregiving duration as a single quantitative indicator, overlooking potential differences arising from distinct temporal structures. Objective To examine the moderating role of careg…

  • Prioritizing embryologist health

Open Access•Man-Xi Jiang, Shao-Qing Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Clinical embryologists are pivotal to assisted reproductive technology (ART) success, performing critical procedures from gamete manipulation to embryo transfer, yet they face multifaceted and under recognized occupational health challenges in a high-stakes environment. This review examines a variety of occupational risks and diseases affecting embryologists, synthesizing literature on physical, psychological, and ergonomic hazards. Musculoskelet…

  • Sleep quality among military personnel exposed to high altitude

Open Access•Qian Yang, Yi Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Sleep disturbances are common among military personnel stationed in high-altitude environments and may have important implications for health and operational functioning. This study aimed to investigate the effects of cumulative high-altitude exposure on sleep quality and to examine the roles of oxygen supplementation and frequency of returning to low-altitude areas. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1,316 military p…

  • Ninety Day Toxicity and Toxicokinetics of Fluorochloridone after Oral Administration in Rats

Open Access•Suhui Zhang, Xiaoqin Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2015

The ninety day toxicity and toxicokinetics of fluorochloridone (FLC) were accessed in Wistar rats. Animals were gavaged with FLC at doses of 31.25 mg/kg, 125 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg for ninety days, followed by thirty days for recovery. On the 1st, 60th, 75th and 90th days of the dosing phase, plasma of ten animals of all groups treated with FLC was collected for toxicokinetic analysis of FLC by an UPLC-MS/MS method. Numerous changes in body weight, …
