Asymmetric U-shaped association between hypertension and wearable-derived sleep duration
Objective: To investigate associations between hypertension and wearable-derived sleep duration, including Sleep Period Time (SPT) and Total Sleep Time (TST), in community-dwelling adults. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, nocturnal SPT and TST were objectively quantified from single-lead electrocardiograms and analyzed using multimodal regression approaches including covariate-adjusted binary logistic regression, restricted cubic splines, …
Digital Strategies for Cultural Repatriation
In the contemporary era, the digital realm has emerged as a transformative force in the preservation and restitution of cultural artifacts. This study analyzes the conceptual framework, modalities, and existing scholarly discourse surrounding the digital repatriation of cultural artifacts. Through a tracking investigation of digital repatriation practices, we critically examine the complexities and dilemmas inherent in the digital repatriation pr…
Digital literacy among primary school teachers
Although inclusive education is widely recognized as essential, there appears to be a lack of appropriate instruments for assessing the digital literacy of teachers working in inclusive settings. To address this gap, an instrument to measure the digital literacy of primary school teachers involved in inclusive education in Malaysia was designed and validated. The instrument development process comprised three main phases: (1) formulation of gener…
From Conceptualization to Implementation
The avatar is becoming an emerging technology in the tourism industry. This study aims to conceptualize the avatar and illustrate its application, as well as provide further theoretical discussion in the tourism context. Based on technology affordance theory, four affordance dimensions (interactivity, identity, creativity, and embodiment) were identified to conceptualize avatars and their relationships with tourists and service providers. Further…
Knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and information needs of women vaccinated with the HPV vaccine regarding cervical cancer prevention
Background Cervical cancer poses a serious threat to women’s health globally, especially in China. HPV vaccination and screening are crucial prevention and control measures. However, the screening coverage among Chinese women remains low, and there is a need to better understand the knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and information needs of Chinese HPV-vaccinated women regarding cervical cancer prevention to optimize prevention and control strateg…
Influence of parental resilience on non-suicidal self-injury in adolescent cancer patients
A short-term, DBT-based parental resilience training program may improve caregiver resilience, reduce adolescent anxiety and depression, and lower short-term NSSI recurrence in adolescents with cancer. However, the lack of a control group and short follow-up limit the generalizability of findings. Further controlled studies with larger samples and longer follow-up are warranted
A scrolling performance model based on two-dimensional touch peephole interactions
In multi-touch interfaces, scrolling is a common interactive task. Scrolling performance can help users search and browse content initially off-screen. To evaluate this interaction task by performing analyses and making model assumptions about the interaction process, we divided it into two phases: the search phase and the pointing phase. As a result, quantitative modelling was developed, and two scrolling modes with and without distance feedback…
Distribution and Driving Factors of Forest Swamp Conversions in a Cold Temperate Region
Forest swamps are widely distributed in cold temperate regions, with important landscape and ecological functions. They are prone to conversion caused by complex factors. Forest swamp conversions involve forest swamping, meadow swamping, water body swamping, and conversion to farmland. An understanding of the landscape characteristics and primary environmental factors driving forest swamp conversions is imperative for exploring the mechanism of f…
