  • Urbanisation factor as a modifier of phenotypic development

    Open Access•Magdalena Kosińska, Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1999

The purpose of the research was to analyse the causes of the physical development differentiation of children (boys) coming from localities characterised by different degree of urbanisation. The material was collected over a span of ten years, from 1980 to 1990. It covered anthropometric measurements and data of an inquiry. The results confirmed the influence of the urbanisation variable. Urbanisation may be treated both as a socio-economic varia…

  • Noworodek - stan rozwoju fizycznego i trendy rozwojowe urodzeniowej masy ciała

    Open Access•Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1992•Cited by: 1

Having continued the research carried out in 1960 and 1970, the sample of 1620 newborns (762 girls and 858 boys) born in 1986 in Poznan were examined. Measurments of: body mass (1), si length (2), head circumference(3) and chest circumference (4) as well as the values of indices (1/2,3/4) were shown in the tables and on the graphs

  • Rozwój biologiczny dzieci bułgarskich w wieku przedszkolnym

    Open Access•Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1980

The paper presents current state of physical development of children from Plovdiv City, Bulgaria. Numerical characteristics of morphological traits of these children given in the present paper may serve as indicators of physical development of Plovdiv children in age span 3-7 years. Furthermore the present author investigates interpopulation differences in development of Bulgarian and Polish children using data from Plovdiv and Poznań

  • Normalność a norma jako biologiczny układ odniesienia

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Joachim J Cieślik et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1979•Cited by: 1

Authors explain notions of "norm” and “normalacy” on grounds of relations between phenotype and genetic-environmental interactions responsible for phenotypic variability. Phenotypic variability is due to a fact that genotype does not determine unequivocally formation of a phenotype, but only so called norm of reaction of an individual. In turn recombination of parental genes within a population determines so called adaptive norm of a population. …

  • Norma rozwojowa jako statystyczny model rozwoju dziecka polskiego a regionalne normy rozwoju fizycznego

    Open Access•Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1978•Cited by: 1

This paper compares present regional norms of physical development of children and youth. As a reference system cross-country data of The Second Antropometric Survey organized by Anthropometric Committee of Polish Academy of Sciences in 1966 - 68 published by S. Niemiec [Wolański et al. 1975] were employed. Comparisons encompass individuals aged 7 - 18 years. For separate regional norms standarized deviations from „Polish norm” were calculated fo…

  • Współzależność cech morfologicznych w ujęciu rozwojowym interpretowana metodą elips „równoodległych

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Joachim J Cieślik et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1977•Cited by: 1•References: 2

The paper presents a quantitative analysis of biological distances between children at the age of 3 years and those in successive age groups (4-18 years), as well as respective groups of boys and girls viewed developmentally. The analysis was carried out by investigating the relationship of body weight to thigh circumference using the method of equiprobable ellipses in a system of standardization. As a base for standardization, values of the inve…

  • Stan rozwoju fizycznego dzieci wiejskich wsi Partyzany (południowa Serbia-Jugosławia)

    Open Access•Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1976

On the ground of anthropometric examinations of 380 Yugoslavian country children aged 7-15, basic indices of their physical development are presented

  • Kinetyka i dynamika rozwoju fizycznego dzieci i młodzieży m. Poznania

    Open Access•Maria Danuta Kaliszewska-Drozdowska, Andrzej Malinowski•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1975

On ground of anthropometric measurements of 3,152 individuals in age from 3 to 18 years taken in randomly chosen kindergartens, primary and high schools from Poznań city in the years 1971/72 present day state of physical development of subadults is presented. Analysing dynamics of physical development of examined individuals and age changes in sexual dimorphism authors have found adolescent growth spurt to be at 15 - 16 years in boys and 10 - 12 …
