  • Growth and nutritional status of children from dysfunctional families with alcohol addicted parents in Poland

Open Access•Tomasz Hanć, Zbigniew Czapla et al.•ARTICLE•Economics & Human Biology•2015

  • An Association Between Adverse Events, Anxiety and Body Size of Adolescents

Open Access•Tomasz Hanć, KLAUDIA JANICKA et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Biosocial Science•2014

The aim of the study was to assess the relationship between adverse life events, a tendency to respond with a high level of anxiety, and height and adiposity of adolescents. The sample included 575 persons (309 girls and 266 boys) aged 10–15 (mean 12.73) from the Wielkopolska region of Poland. The influence of adverse events during the 6 months before the examination and anxiety trait, as assessed with a STAIC questionnaire, on body height and BM…

  • Electrophoretic Mobility of Cell Nuclei (EMN) index – relation to biological and physical properties of the cell

    Open Access•Zbigniew Czapla, Joachim Cieslik•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1998•References: 5

The authors describe certain physical and biological properties of cell and resulting electrical and electrokinetic properties, directly or indirectly related with the Electrophoretic Mobility of Cell Nuclei (EMN) index. This index, may become a new criterion in the estimation of the biological age, irrespective of the stage of the ontogenesis

  • Czy miejsce procesu akulturacji rodziców wpływa modyfikująco na poziom rozwoju cech fenotypowych ich potomstwa

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Magdalena Kosińska•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1993•Cited by: 1•References: 5

DOES THE ORIGIN OF PARENTAL ACCULTURATION INFLUENCE CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT? \nThe purpose of this paper is to analyse the influence of parents' culturgenes on stature and body weight of \nchildren distinguished by the origin of parental acculturation

  • Wybór najlepszych, ze względu na średnią, populacji normalnych

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Mirosława Sitek•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1987•Cited by: 2•References: 9

The work deals with the problem of choosing the best normal population in terms of the average. Two methods of choice are given depending on whether we are interested in choosing exactly one population or a subset including the best population. In both cases the probability of a correct decision P* depends on the amount of observations and the length of the confidence interval 6 for the highest mean. As regards the first method the length of the …

  • Normalność a norma jako biologiczny układ odniesienia

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Joachim J Cieślik et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1979•Cited by: 1

Authors explain notions of "norm” and “normalacy” on grounds of relations between phenotype and genetic-environmental interactions responsible for phenotypic variability. Phenotypic variability is due to a fact that genotype does not determine unequivocally formation of a phenotype, but only so called norm of reaction of an individual. In turn recombination of parental genes within a population determines so called adaptive norm of a population. …

  • Interpretacja fenotypowego kształtowania się cech osobnika w rozwoju i ocena jego miejsca w populacji

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Joachim J Cieślik•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1977•Cited by: 2•References: 2

On grounds of human genetics and ecological rules as well as basic methods for evaluation of developmental advancement of morphological characters the author has made an attempt to collect into certain groupings all possible ways or phenotypic formation of individual's characteristics during his development. The course of individual's line of phenotipic formation of characters during development depends on genetically determined range (norm of re…

  • Współzależność cech morfologicznych w ujęciu rozwojowym interpretowana metodą elips „równoodległych

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Joachim J Cieślik et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1977•Cited by: 1•References: 2

The paper presents a quantitative analysis of biological distances between children at the age of 3 years and those in successive age groups (4-18 years), as well as respective groups of boys and girls viewed developmentally. The analysis was carried out by investigating the relationship of body weight to thigh circumference using the method of equiprobable ellipses in a system of standardization. As a base for standardization, values of the inve…

  • Dynamika rozwoju cech fizycznych dzieci wiejskich w grupach wieku kalendarzowego i rozwojowego

    Open Access•Joachim Cieslik, Barbara Losiak•ARTICLE•Anthropological Review•1973

The inharmonious rate by which country children 3-6 years old (116 girls and 100 boys) attaint morphological maturity, induced us to detect the formation of values of some traits in groups of calendar and 'developmental age (weight and growing). A through analysis of results brought us to following conclusions: country children examined during their ontogenetic period prove to reach their morphological maturity in a rather unequal rate The arithm…
