  • Psychometric evaluation of the revised Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire in Japanese adolescents

Open Access•Ekachaeryanti Zain, Atsunori Sugimoto et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background School bullying is a major public health concern and is associated with adolescent mental health status. Although validated instruments exist to assess bullying victimization and witnessing in Japan, the psychometric validity of perpetration measures remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric validity of the revised Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ-R), focusing particularly on its perpetration subscale. Metho…

  • Psychometric evaluation of the Japanese Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale for screening postpartum anxiety

Open Access•Ekachaeryanti Zain, Yuichiro Watanabe et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Both the EPDS-3A and EPDS-4A demonstrated good model fit and screening accuracy for anxiety at one month postpartum. Integrating anxiety screening into routine postpartum care may improve maternal mental health outcomes. Future studies involving clinical settings and larger cohort studies are recommended to improve external validity

  • Case report

Open Access•Ekachaeryanti Zain, Atsunori Sugimoto et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

This case report suggests that MPH may be potentially effective in treating chronic pain. Further studies are needed to confirm whether MPH improved chronic pain simultaneously with or separately from the improvement in ADHD. Moreover, elucidating the anatomical sites and molecular pharmacological mechanisms related to the action of MPH in pain modulation and perception is essential. Such sites include the descending dopaminergic pain pathway and…

  • The three-factor structure of the Autism-Spectrum Quotient Japanese version in pregnant women

Open Access•Ekachaeryanti Zain, Naoki Fukui et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

The findings are discussed in relation to the adequacy of the AQ-J for assessing autistic traits in perinatal women. We recommend the use of this 25-item, three-factor AQ-J model for this population owing to its superiority to all previous models
