  • Quality of life and disease burden in tuberous sclerosis and comparison with the population with idiopathic autism spectrum disorder

Open Access•Giorgia Sforza, Alessandra Voci et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2026

Despite its lack of validation, the TSCQoL scale was established as an exploratory tool that consistently highlighted, along with the PedsQL, clinical factors that most impact quality of life. Quality of life was low in the TSC population, and this was strongly correlated with neuropsychiatric manifestations and epilepsy. Through comparison with idiopathic ASD, we observed a greater impact of the syndromic condition on disease burden

  • Secondary Narcolepsy as Worsening Sign in a Pediatric Case of Optic Pathway Glioma

Open Access•Beatrice Laus, Anna Maria Caroleo et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

Narcolepsy, a neurologic disorder that leads to excessive daytime sleepiness, may represent a rare consequence of neoplastic lesions involving the sellar/parasellar and hypothalamic regions, the anatomical areas responsible for wakefulness. Optic pathway gliomas represent the most common neoplasm of these regions and present an excellent overall survival, while long-term neurologic impairments, such as visual loss, endocrinopathies, or sleep diso…
