Self-Compassion and the Experience of Giving Things Up
We propose that higher self-compassion reduces individuals’ perceptions of a downside risk to self-change. In Study 1 (N = 490), we surveyed participants’ self-compassion and goal perceptions while recently giving up an important attachment.
