  • Atmospheric mercury in Australia

    Open Access•Jenny A Fisher, Peter F Nelson•ARTICLE•Elementa Science of the…•2020

Mercury is a toxic bioaccumulative pollutant, with the atmosphere being the primary pathway for global distribution. Although atmospheric mercury cycling has been extensively monitored and modeled across the Northern Hemisphere, there has long been a dearth of mercury data for the Southern Hemisphere. Recent efforts in Australia are helping to fill this gap, with new observational records that span environments ranging from cool temperate to warm…

This paper brings together critical perspectives on both the nature of risk and ethical decision making in the context of social work admissions of applicants with criminal convicti…

  • Keeping a closer eye on fossil fuel CO 2

    Open Access•Peter F Nelson•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2009

Earlier and accurate data on CO 2 emissions is important for a range of reasons. It allows comparison with the scenarios developed by the IPCC; uncertainties in emission scenarios are one of the major sources of uncertainties in temperature projections, particularly at longer time scales, where temperature projections are increasingly dependent on specific emission scenarios (IPCC 2007)
