Attribution of methane point source emissions using airborne imaging spectroscopy and the Vista-California methane infrastructure dataset
Methane (CH _4 ), an important greenhouse gas and pollutant, has been targeted for mitigation. Our recent California airborne survey identified >500 CH _4 point source super-emitters, which accounted for 34%–46% of the statewide CH _4 emissions inventory for 2016 (Duren et al 2019 Nature 575 180–184).
