    This paper describes the social and demographic characteristics of contraceptive users in Ghana, using the Ghana Demographic and Health Survey (GDHS) data (1993). Analysis has revealed that contraceptive use among women is quite low.     This paper tests hypotheses regarding the association of socio-economic factors with type of marriage (monogamy and polygyny) in Ghana using a sample of 1797 wives from the Ghana Demographic and Health Survey (GDHS) data (1988).
